REDCAN’s story is almost half a century old. A childhood staple for Chef Jason was seeing his mom, Debbie, with her favorite drink—a red can Coke. A joke with his kid friends was never get caught taking the last can! Debbie passed before witnessing Jason’s career as a chef flourish. Needless to say, naming the restaurant after Jason’s mom is a ‘sweet’ reminder of the love and support that she always gave him on his road to success in the Chef-Restaurant world.
Jason is also part-owner and creator of two award-winning restaurants: Worthy Burger in South Royalton, VT and Worthy Kitchen in Woodstock, VT. Leslie brings a background of farm-to-table with her upbringing on a Vermont dairy farm. A passion for fresh vegetables straight from the garden and high-quality proteins.
The couple, both born and raised in Vermont, enjoy Vermont’s outdoor adventures and all it has to offer. With a passion for ski racing—they were in the coaching world for years—now will watch their daughter ski race for Carrabassett Valley Academy starting Fall ’24. Jacob, Jason’s son is attending the Culinary Institute of America in New York—following in his father’s footsteps of the restaurant world.
